A Sickness 05:23
And I thought I had a sickness I had to listen I had to notice I had to burn it out And I thought I had a fever Slowing me down And I thought I had a secret Till I was found out Don't want to dig any deeper Because it's spiraling me out Until I can't remember Why I fell down Why I fell down Why I fell down Why I fell down Why I fell down Why I fell down

about

I started creating the audio using AsyncArt tools when they released music blueprints a year+ ago but with them being closed now I couldn't let this die. It was originally called On Foot. It was going to have many music and visual layers randomized. So every time someone bought one, every layer from the guitar to what shows up on the album art was unique. No two copies were the same. The art was going to have a theme of paths in nature. I took a bunch of reference photographs from going biking, hiking, out in nature, and had plans to draw them in my style. It was going to take at least a year to complete it but I was slacking and they shut down before I could finish. Although I didn’t use the original art idea, I still wanted to make a kind of landscape type piece. I went back to Mandlebulb3D to create the fractals, Davinci for compositing, and Photoleap to edit cover. A Sickness being a reference to Async and general sickness of life.

It was cool how the collab started. I sent Selfxiste one of the extended instrumentals and he came back the next day with lyrics, a new electric guitar riff (02:31), and some sweet new drums (02:21) to mix. After I got all that, I toyed with some of the levels and effects on his voice, we edited it a couple more times, and ended up happy with how it all turned out.
